The first of my San Diego Comic-Con write-ups is here at Geek Syndicate, where we encounter the military, warning signs of deadly snakes and giant ladies.

More to come!

By the time you read this, I should (hopefully) be in San Diego, representing Clockwork Watch and Magic of Myths at Comic-Con.

Yomi will be putting together reports from the show floor for Steampunk Chronicle and I’ll be writing reports for Geek Syndicate, so keep reading here and both of those places for updates!

Next – Magic of Myths!

Sergio and I are on the verge of launching Magic of Myths: season two, which will get its debut at San Diego Comic-Con next week. We took pre-orders for the special edition all through July and the regular edition will launch fully on 26th July 2013.

Magic of Myths: season 2 (special edition)
Magic of Myths: season 2 (regular edition)

We’re also launching the Magic of Myths combo book, which is both seasons one and two rolled into one edition – perfect for newcomers to the growing series:

If you’re interested in getting a copy, just get in touch – the books are coming back from the printers right about… now.

Also, you couldn’t have failed to have noticed that glowering blue bear at the top of this post. That is a plush version of Byron, the homicidal demon bear from Magic of Myths, hand stitched from scratch by the wonderfully talented Sara Dunkerton. Take a look:

You can see the rest and Sara’s detailed process of how she created Byron, here: saradunkerton.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/magic-of-myths-byron-plush-bear-pt-1.html.

So, what do we have to catch up on? Lots of stuff.

Let’s start with Clockwork Watch.

Since the launch of the first book (The Arrival) in 2012, we’ve managed to push the concept across the globe, launched a second event (Clockwork Underworld) and now two more books, Breakaway and Tick Tock IPA.

You can buy Breakaway  – which is our The Empire Strikes Back to the shiny, clean optimism of The Arrival‘s Star Wars: A New Hope – here: www.comicsy.co.uk/clockworkwatch/store/

Tick Tock IPA launches at San Diego Comic-Con next week, but you’ll be able to get your hands on it soon after…

“When I’m writing, I’m trapped in-between the lines
I escape… when I finish the rhyme…”

There are absences, and there are absences.

And then there’s a six month hiatus where you didn’t even realise half a year has passed.

Sorry. Sorry sorry sorry.

Of course, the ironic thing is, I’ve been keeping the Magic of Myths site going with constant updates. In fact, in the last six months I’ve:

– Launched a graphic novel
– Finished another graphic novel and helped produce three separate editions of it
– Plotted out yet another graphic novel
– Edited a short story due for publication very soon
– Organised attendance to San Diego Comic-Con, coming this month
– Wrote a secret, short story due for publication later this year
– Organised plans for attending at least another UK based convention in October
– Attended E3 for my day job, along with a batch of other things that comes with my regular work

So I’ve not been slacking. Honest. I merely thought I would revamp the site and pick it up again…

…just not, you know, six months later than planned.

As it stands, the site will be changing. A new title, a new, more personal URL (hopefully) and more words than the last six months (badum-tish, thank ye, thank ye, tip your waitress…).

Be back shortly.

Promise.
